The disease

The novel addresses, at times in a heartbreaking way, the fear of agony, of pain, which we sometimes confuse with that fleeting, painless, and inevitable instant that is death, to such an extent that this abysmal word ends up actually naming that fear. The reader will accompany the sick man through three key days in which the news, the illness itself, and his own period of mourning are condensed. Three days that attempt to capture the pilgrimage of a middle-aged man condemned by a terminal illness. The reader will follow him closely and, without getting ahead of himself, will experience the character's narrative and the horror of facing a death that is already decreed and inexplicable. Simultaneously, the reader will hear the voices surrounding the sick man, presented in the form of interviews, and a third-person narrator who attempts to retell the events, maintaining a certain distance. This polyphony of voices is what will try to gather clues to digest a word we try to avoid: illness.
